Harvest Moon - Neil Young

It’s been raining all day. All day! I almost don’t want to report as much on the chance that I’ll jinx everything like Brad Pitt in Money Ball. But there I wrote it and still it continues on ever since it woke us this morning - these great fat drops splaying themselves on the air conditioner like steel drums. And now I work to it - all the windows open to pin down this misplaced, genuine cold like dead butterflies, to justify the thick hoodie and the hot coffee and pretend that this is really fall, that it will be here tomorrow. I made a mini fireplace of candles on the counter top and if there wasn’t so much work to do, I would beg you to come home sick and make a fort of hand me down quilts on the hand me down couch. Turn on Hannah and Her Sisters or Bottle Rocket or The Quiet American or Rachel Getting Married. Maybe something black and white that I’ve never seen but should have. Reheat last night’s chili or order Thai and make a flight of autumnal beers that sound good but probably won’t be.

Reblogging for these sentences:

“Maybe something black and white that I’ve never seen but should have. Reheat last night’s chili or order Thai and make a flight of autumnal beers that sound good but probably won’t be.”

Reblogging just for the song, which is awesome.  Ignore the hipster shit immediately following Harvest Moon.  Neil would not approve.
