Dominate Digital Media Sales in NYC

I’ve spent some time thinking about curriculum and put up my Slideshare stub:

According to AdAge, “top digital salespeople with just three years’ experience commanding compensation packages as high as $250,000.” While there’s a tremendous amount of opportunity for those with ad sales experience, the field is incredibly dynamic, complicated and competitive.

There are hundreds of digital advertising companies spanning dozens of verticals. These include major media companies such as Yahoo, AOL, Google and CBS, ad technology companies such as AdMeld, MediaMath, and Criteo and niche content businesses such as Business Insider, Gawker Media, and ContentNext. Each of these companies needs knowledgable salespeople to help drive their business forward.

Successful salespeople at these organizations have to contend with incredibly complex bureaucracies at the major ad agency holding companies that are constantly changing. Not only that, they need to effective differentiately the products and solutions they’re selling to win out against the dozens of competing salespeople from other companies in their vertical.

Sounds pretty easy, right? This class will provide an overview of the digital media space and offer an introduction to the skills you’ll need to hone and the tools you’ll need to become familiar with to dominate. This class is intended for individuals who are early on in their digital media sales careers. I’m planning on holding future classes that drill down on more advanced topics.
